What you need

Ingredients

1 cup natural peanut butter · 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup · 1.5 cups rolled oats · 2 scoops (60g) vanilla protein powder · 1/4 cup ground flaxseed · 1/3 cup mini dark chocolate chips

Step 1

Warm the peanut butter

Microwave the peanut butter and honey together for 20 seconds so they stir into each other easily.

Step 2

Combine everything

Add the oats, protein powder, flaxseed, vanilla, and salt, and stir until no dry powder remains. Add milk a tablespoon at a time only if the mix won't come together.

Step 3

Fold in the chocolate

Stir in the chocolate chips once the mixture has cooled slightly, so they hold their shape instead of streaking.

Step 4

Chill the dough

Refrigerate the bowl for 20 minutes. Cold dough rolls cleanly; warm dough sticks to everything.

Chef's tip

Natural peanut butter only

Stabilized spreads are too stiff and make dry, crumbly bites. Stir the oil back in before measuring.
